The protagonist of the works is an existing object, a ruler in the shape of a man. Its members rotate around the joints. Its proportions match the human average. Geometrically, it is a complex plane bounded by curves of variable shape.

By varying the angles of the members and the size of the whole, a wide range of shapes can be produced. They are geometrically diverse, but human perception immediately looks for meaning in the movements. Behind the hands raised to the sky, the kneeling pose, the raised legs, we sense drama.

Composing with human figures is one of the oldest tools in art. It is useless to depict characters in dramatic poses if the relationship between them is not shown by their position. In these pictures, the composition is created by an algorithm. The algorithm was not designed to do this, it has a single purpose: to place all the elements in a way that minimises the space they occupy.

The composition of the image is determined by the number, shape and size of the elements. The colour blue is the only metaphorical element in the whole, a reference to the blueprint technology once used.
